Ihave a domain controller running 2000 advance server
with ADS installed. I set up my policies and apply the
to an OU. But when i log on using a user in the OU on an
XP box, none of my policies apply, but if i sign onto a
2000 box with the same user they do apply. Is there some
setting I am forgetting in XP to get them to apply there.

Are there any errors in the event viewer (application or
system logs)?

I'm having a similar problem, the error message in my
application log is as follows:
'failed to apply software installation settings the error
was 'the group policy framework should call the extension
in the synchronous foreground policy refresh''

The policies you expect to see applied are user policies,
not computer policies, correct ?
Is the XP fully happy as a domain member ?
On the XP run the support \ tools utility named netdiag
and look for failures in the output.
Also, examine the XP's event logs for scecli messages.
