We have noticed that when we installed new WXP PC's one of the GPO's stopped
working i.e. disable run option and delete user profiles on log off. The
original GP was created using W2K. When we created a new GP with XP admin
tools the same settings took affect.

This is understandably worrying because it implies that all WXP machines
could be ignoring any GPO's or GPO settings created with the W2K admin
tools.

Hi Tim,

Based on my test, it works when join a Windows XP machine to a Windows 2000
domain with GPO created in Windows 2000 DC.

Have you checked the following registry regarding the No Run option when
first join the Windows XP to the Windows 2000 domain?

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore
r
NoRun REG_DWORD 0x00000001

Does this issue occur on all the newly joined Windows XP machines?

At the same time, such kind of domain wide GPO deployment issue is better
to be discussed in the following Server newsgroup:
microsoft.public.win2000.setup_deployment
