GP Software installation isssue on Win XP Pro

Bob

I am trying to distribute software using GP from a WIN
2000 domain. I created an assignment to a lab of mixed Win
2000 pro workstations and Win XP pro workstations.

The software install worked erfectly on the win 2000
workstations, but it failed to install and there is no
evidence in the event viewer that the software was pushed
out to the win XP workstations.

Any info. would help.

Thanks,

Bob

Have the XP machines been restarted twice? Due to the fast logon
optimization with Windows XP, they require two restarts to have the software
installed. During the first restart a flag is set to tell it to disable the
fast logon optimimization on the next restart so that software can be
installed. If you set Computer Configuration-Administrative
Templates-System-Logon-Always wait for network at computer startup and logon
to enabled, then only one restart will be required on the XP machines.

That didn't seem to solve the problem. I have checked
permissions on the install directory and everything seems
fine. I have also forced a policy update that didn;t seem
to help. Would it matter that we are running in mixed mode?
