Good Video Player for .NET? (ActiveX OK)

I'm in need of a good lightweight video playback DLL.

Windows Media Player is too finicky with video streams - certain corrupted
streams won't play (but play fine via DirectX). Does anyone have a
recommendation on a good video player?

I've tried Managed DirectX AudioVideoPlayback - but it's locks my threads.
I'm going to give NCT Video Studio a try, but it's a bit expensive. Windows
Media SDK is too picky about the video stream.

Any other choice? There must be a good free ActiveX solution?

About a year ago I did a deep search and test of all that were out there and
ended up with:

http://www.fathsoft.com

videocapx.

Don't let the relatively low price fool you ... this puppy does ins and outs
with lots of events, plus lets you capture and convert to WMV with custom
profiles.

Oh, and even just as a player it's really solid :).

WMFormat dist required (they all require this, but if the users have MP10
then it's already on their machines).

Hope it helps.

Wow... definately looks good.

I'm going to give it a try and see how it works.

I ended up using Movie Player v1.2 Pro - it has a neat feature to allow
scrolling of text across a video source.

Hmmm, I did put it in a separate thread, but it hung my main gui...

I downloaded your project and your example worked fine (with a thread). I
guess I need to take a closer look at how I did it and see why it doesn't
work...
