What's with the PGP SIGNED MESSAGE?

Is that because of > Organization: EarthLink Inc. --
http://www.EarthLink.net

That's as bad as using HTML. Looks to me like it adds a KB of useless crap.

...no one has tried to impersonate you on the MS servers.

This is true on the *Microsoft* news servers, (So far. Heh) BUT, it's
a GOOD habit. I don't even think about it. If I start to selectively
do it, then there's a good chance that I'll occasionally forget to
sign my posts for groups outside of MS.

Laura, I can't agree less. I think that Ork Also has a real problem and has come to the
right place for an answer. It's not true that "Most people only post when they have
something to contribute." Many, if not most, post when they have a question. If folks only
contributed, the site would degenerate into a chat forum.

The answer, to subscribe directly to microsoft.public.etc., is as good as it gets. The
drivel following is 'way off topic.

You will have to forgive me. I do not have very much experience
posting in newsgroups.

Your "experience" in posting is in about 99.9% Microsoft newsgroups.
MS groups have a different netiquette. Besides top-posting, they even
allow (ack!) HTML and attachments. You can't compare MS groups to
REAL usenet. Oh, and you used four nyms in four years.

OTOH, my "experience" in posting is in about 99.9% NON-Microsoft
newsgroups. No top-posting, HTML or attachments. I snip irrelevant
stuff from messages. And only one nym in seven years.

So YES, I forgive you.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. "Contribute" also meaning asking legitimate
questions.
