Can anyone please recommend a good freeware calendar programme?

I am looking for one with the same general facilities as Outlook and which
preferably would allow me to import existing Outlook appointments and tasks.

Thanks,

V

Hi Victor,

I was on the same search when I switched to Open Office; finally I found
Essential Pim (EPIM) (http://www.essentialpim.com ), and if you have you
Outlook still installed, it will detect the installation and suggest to
import everything but the Email, but appointments, contacts, tasks etc.
are imported beautifully; afterwards you can uninstall Outlook then. EPIM
works like a charm, and is updated quite regularly.

Many thanks for the suggestions - I shall follow them up. Essential PIM
looks particularly promising.

You're welcome!

Oh dear, spoke too soon... EPIM failed to import my Outlook data correctly
(particular problem with recurring appointments) and reading posts in the
support forum it appears that this has long been a problem with the free
version of EPIM - and promises to fix it have yet to materialise...

Back to the drawing board. Anyone else any suggestions?
