good/bad or indifferent?

I have been using MS antispyware since it first appeared and in some ways it
really does what it says on the tin. Real time protection like Zone alarm
and the only software that was able to get rid of Apropos and people on page
which was giving my sons PC hell. Then on the other hand you have the Tracks
eraser which whilst it removes visible history from the Internet explorer,
doesn't get rid of tracks from Temp, temp internet files and history, what
is the good of that? Anyone with a little savvy could get into these folders
and get a pretty good idea what you have been browsing.

Hi

For most users these folders are hidden by
default.................. ;)

Perhaps we must ask MS about this "savvy". I can´t see any
reason
to not complete wipe out this junkyard.

Cookies\dataminer scanning is not supported in this beta 1 release of MSAS,
should be by beta 2.

I would consider MSAS as a complimentary application to the various software
that I run to protect my system. MSAS is not Almighty. AFAIK, there is no
one application that incorporates all the applications necessary to protect
a system and the reason is not money but rather the requiremens of each
user.

There are at least 6-7 applications that I run in my system to ensure my
system is running smoothly.

Thats why we have MSAS in beta, so we can offer feedback so it can turn into
the Almighty.

Most of the new spyware is bundled with adware,
keyloggers and other malicious software so why wouldn't
you have a program to handle them all?

From Steve Dodson:
You have a limited user account running the application looking for spyware
on all files and folders. This includes the administrator account which
limited users may not be able to access. So we have to approach this
carefully in order to remove the spyware from all locations, but also
preserve file and folder permissions and access.

In short, we are addressing this for a future release, but it involves some
major coding and testing.

Hi Timax,

"<I have been using MS antispyware since it first appeared and in some ways

Yup Works fairly good, even better proactively.

Real time protection like Zone alarm
< Then on the other hand you have the Tracks
eraser which whilst it removes visible history from the Internet explorer,
doesn't get rid of tracks from Temp, temp internet files and history, what
is the good of that?>
That piece isn't really active in this Beta version.

<Anyone with a little savvy could get into these folders

Once someone has physical access to your pc, it is no longer yours.
Most users haven't a clue as to how to get into those folders. If you ahve
someone snoooping on you, I think that's more a query for Dr. Phil. :)
