Gold-Software selection of freeware

Hello...

Has anyone used any software from Gold-Software?
http://www.gold-software.com/software.html

Just wondering if I can reasonably trust their selection.

On the first page of the link that you supplied is a "featured" area,
one of the programs under this heading is called "IvanView:
The new standard in image viewing software!" and costs $24.95.
I wouldn't trust them. :)

A quick search for the term "freeware" via Google for that URL produces
nearly nothing. It's a shareware sight with a few token freeware
screensavers thrown in. Forget it. . .

The awful phrase "Free Downloads" raises my hackles instantly.

Taking a brief smple, the first thing that caught my eye turned out to
be trialware.

Out of 4 picks I made, 3 were trialware, 1 had a free version.

No attempt is made to distinguish them at anthing other than the very
last level, sometimes not even then - if you're looking for freeware,
you'd waste a lot of time there.
