Sorry to contradict the other guys but it is similar in its intentions. It
attempts to roll back a system like system restore does but requires massive
amounts of disk space. It rolls back the whole system where as windows just
restores damaged core components. I would stick to Windows system restore as
all Norton programs are buggy messes. I have had enough experience with them
to leave them well alone.

I would not assume so, since these program are not open source I guess we
will never know. But most likely, it is not, since they both do not restore
the same way. E.G if you have a exe file on your desktop, windows restore
will not restore that, but Norton will.

I've never had a problem with GoBack over two years usage, but that is not
to say others haven't experienced problems. However, problems with System
Restore is common place. Note the number of problems posted in these NGs
concerning failure of System Restore. If space is a concern which it
shouldn't be in this day with such large HDDs and you are looking to backup
the Registry, use ERUNT, the only way to go!
GoBack obviously takes up more space on the HDD as it provides a 'backup'
for the whole system/drives and you can set the space it uses.
