I just bought a new laptop with Vista. I am very new to vista, anyway, I
have two questions about seting up my Outlook with a Gmail account.

I have set everything up right in outlook, (I think) I am able to receive
messages, but not send, when I try the test email settings, everything
checks off but the send test email, it says, -failed, Please verify email
address. my email address is right, I tried all sorts of different ways
(@gmail.com, @googlemail.com) nothing seems to work.

also- Evey time I open up outlook, it asks me to enter a Network Password,
how do I disable this feature, I never had to do it when I was running
outlook in XP on my old computer.
can anybody help? thanks a bunch

Are you using Outlook 2003 or 2007? From experience Outlook 2007
automatically configures gmail accounts during account setup and as far as I
know I did not have any problems with it. Anyway, you might want to check the
settings for your SMTP server I believe that google uses another port for
their SMTP server.

I am using 2003, I believe I have the ports set up right, I have them set
the same as i did on my other computer.

You've probaly already checked this, but when I had the same problem I found
that I had to turn on POP service on the gmail website. Ports in the help
screens show as 995 and 465

Good Luck!
