Global variable in Outlook Form Solutions?

A

Amir S.

Hi everyone,

Is there any such thing in OL form solutions as a global variable (or
shall I say a global field)? I know that field data are usually bound
to items not to a folder and thus aren't global. So what is the
conventional way of keeping track of a variable in OL forms?

(For instance, I want a variable/field to keep track of the total
number of let's say a certain type of message ever sent using a
particular form, or the last date the form was filled out)

I know the value of the variable can be stored in a txt file on a
server or something, but is there a "smarter" way?

Your help will be much appreciated :p

If the information is local to the current user, store it in a file on the
user's system or a hidden or visible Outlook item in the user's folders. If
the information is global to all users working with the form, store it in an
Outlook item in a public folder (either a hidden item or a visible item) or
a database.
