Whenever I close Word 2002, I get the messge that "Changes have made that
affect the global template". I searched this forum and read previous
postings. I went to

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011514521033.aspx

and to

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CheckIfAddinsInstalled.htm

and followed all directions there. I've checked for add-ins and com
add-ins, and I've checked both Startup folders.

When I start Word using Run/winword.exe /a it does not have the problem.

Any ideas what to try next?

Thanks

If it happens every time, as in, you open Word, open and close a document
without editing, and close Word...

It is an Add-In or a virus, I think.

I checked and found no add-ins in both places as detailed in the MS article
referenced above. I also ran 2 virus scans - one from my computer, and the
Trend Micro online scan.

Did this just start Sunday? If so, it was most likely caused by the time
change (if you're in an area that just changed from Daylight-Saving to
Standard time). If you break down and say yes once, you probably won't be
bothered again.

OK I bit the bullet and clicked Yes. That seems to have cleared it up.

What is it in the template that is affected by the time change?

Your guess is as good as mine. I was just grateful for an explanation (of
sorts)--a reason for the behavior if not its cause.
