I know this is probably considered a bad idea but I want to go into a
database and search & replace every instance of a particular text string. I
have been away from Access for a long time and am trying to resurrect an old
database I wrote in 1996. I have gotten it to function in Access 2003 but
I need to modify it for a different, although similar purpose.

It's a simple matter to change the label on the form for a Text Box. But, I
would also like to rename the Text Box and associated Queries and Tables. I
know I have done this in the past and you have to be very careful but I
wondered if anyone knows of a utility to do something like this.

TIA,

Tom

Speed Ferret is a commercial product that does that.

Find And Replace is a shareware add-in from Rick Fisher at
www.rickworld.com

I've always been satisfied with Find And Replace so haven't tried the
other one. Both of them get good reviews in the Access newsgroups.

I'll give one more vote for Find/Replace.

Actually tried Speed Ferret, courtesy of a clien's IT div, didn't care for it.
