not quite sure: what is a G/L template??

What exactly are you looking for? Financial Statement Templates? An idea of GL
Codes? A Template for creating Journal entries? Are you trying to keep you r
books in Excel?

If you go to File, new, Templates and see what templates you have -- spreadsheet
solutions has Financial statements (BS and IS)
