gifs not working

when i import gifs into movie maker they dont play the animation. it works on
ma lap top but that is off soon so i need it to work on ma pc. got visual
shows to do and it's driving me nuts.
 
it might not work in the collection, but try putting one on the timeline and
saving it as a movie clip.... it should work there
 
yeah tried that, no joy. i've shrank files tried basic animations and nowt.
i'm willing to bet it something stupid but i still have no idea..
