I have a very strange problem, I have some how gained a second cdrom in my
computer connected to a A347scsi scsi controller in device manager, xp has
installed the drivers for these and says they are working properly. The
thing is they are not fitted, I only have one dvdram (lg gsa-4163b) and no
scsi controller. I have removed these from device manager but windows puts
them back, so I have disabled them for the time being, what can be causing
this and how do I stop it?

XP2800 barton

CD-writing software could be causing it. When you write a CD from a
disk image file, it needs to mount it onto a *ghost* drive, and then it
writes the disk as if it were copying it directly from another optical
drive.

Alcohol does it, they call it 'Virtual Drive". I use it to play games
without finding the CD.

Sounds like you have some sort of CD-rom emulating software installed. Ex:
alcohol or daemon tools.
