Hi George,
I use Ghost 2003 all the time. I have no problems ghosting to USB hard
drives. I've never tried ghosting to a flash drive but I have ghosted a
flash drive, which was really kind of a pointless experiment.
In reality Ghost 2003 is kind of 'iffy' about USB drives. Almost all of my
drives are recognized by guest.exe which is what ghost uses to find external
drives. I've been kind of lucky.

As for ghost itself, if you were asking if it can back up the master boot
record as well as the files. Yes, it's under Options on the DOS ghost screen.
I usually try to ghost straight onto my hard drive, it's much faster than
USB. After the image file is created I just copy it to the USB drive in
windows. To that end I always try to have multiple partitions on each hard
disk, since ghost won't write the image to the same partition you're backing
up. Hopefully you can arrange to have enough free space in each partition to
backup the other one.
Good Luck,
Len
