Ghost and SATA/RAID disks ?

I'm planning to use SATA/RAID disks for the first time, with either a
Asus A8V or MSI K8N Neo2 motherboard, and an AMD64 cpu. I use Ghost
for system backups, which boots to a Dos floppy, and so the SATA/RAID
is a big concern for it. Can it still work?

The concern is about this Dos floppy for Ghost 7, or the newest
version either, working with SATA/RAID? This definitely seems to
rule out the MSI K8N, because the MSI K8N manual says "No win98 on
SATA" and says "No Win98 on RAID". I think the Asus A8V supports
Win98 on both. Does that include drivers for a Dos Floppy to work
with Ghost?

Can anyone with experience clarify the situation/solution about what
is needed to make the Ghost Dos floppy work with SATA/RAID? Is it
possible with the Asus motherboard?

Hmm, dunno about Ghost, or the RAID part, but I used BootitNG
(www.bootitng.com), which boots from floppy, to copy/resize partitions from
an old 8GB IDE drive to a new Seagate SATA drive on a MSI K8N Neo2
Platinum. I was able to boot off the SATA drive to Win98 in Safe Mode;
when I tried a normal boot it gave some msg about "insufficient memory...."
even though I'd had the VCACHE parameters set, which is supposed to fix
Win98 problems with big (1GB in my new system) memory. I didn't pursue it
any further and just loaded WinXP on to the C: partition.

BootitNG contains a Ghost-like drive image function but I haven't tried it
yet - now you've got me curious.
