How do i get rid of a virus in my .pst file. I use Avast as my AV program
and it will scan, find but cannot delete an existing vu=irus. great at
stopping them coming in but not so good at existing.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards

Locate the message containing the virus and delete it. Note that because of
several layers of security a virus will not be able to automatically execute
on its own. Keeping a virus infected message in your mailbox is completely
harmless.

If you happen to know the subject of the message, do a search in Outlook.
In the search pane that comes up, select all and then do a shift + delete.
This will have Outlook do a permanent delete where it bypasses the deleted
items folder in Outlook.
