getting rid of annoying automatic functions like ....

.... every time i type a date into text it decides to try
and finish it off for me by adding an americanised numeric
format to the end of my date - how do i stop this?

.... everytime i try to use 'draw' it puts an annoying
great 'put your drawing here' box which is so unhelpful it
makes me scream - how do i stop this?

1. Select Tools > AutoCorrect. On the AutoFormat tab, clear "Show
AutoComplete tip for AutoText and dates".

2. To get rid of the drawing canvas: On the General tab of Tools

Options, clear the "Automatically create drawing canvas when

inserting AutoShapes" check box.
