Getting pictures from another drive

How do you tell movie maker to get the pictures from another drive? I
already have a movie maker file set up, and am trying to burn it to a dvd.
The dvd burner is built into the tower, but I have to put the CD that
contains the pictures into that drive. When I put the picture CD into my
other CD burner, it doesn't bring in the pictures from that drive. I can
import them, but the "X"s are in the storyline. Once I put the picture CD
back into my tower, the pictures fill in the storyline.

Why not copy the pictures to your
hard drive and direct Movie Maker
to find them there?

What John said is the best solution so the pics are available whenever you
want them.
For a quick fix put the CD in the other drive and right click the X's in the
storyline and click "Browse for Missing Files" point Movie Maker to the CD
and the file you clicked on and it should find the rest of them
automatically freeing up the burning drive.
Alternately save the movie to your harddrive so you would not need the
picture disk anymore and work with the video from there.

Awesome....thank you guys...didn't even see that before...

I don't like them on the hard drive because it takes up alot of space...i'm
using over 400 pictures for this project and if the computer crashes, then I
would lose them.

Now, I just have to figure out how to make my burned DVD compatible with my
DVD players...so far, I have had no luck with that...I have until graduation
day, 6/2 to figure this all out.

Again, thank you for your help....

In the case of a crash you would only lose
the pix you copied to the hard drive...the
originals would still be on the CD.

The brand / type of DVD you use has a
lot to do with it. I've had good luck with
the following...(no guarantees but maybe
you could also):

Verbatim DVD-R 16X

Maybe the following links will help you
create the DVD.
