Getting Microsoft branded Media Center Remote to work..

I installed MCE05 on a machine that meets specs, but I didn't have the USB
infrared receiver attached while installing the OS. Now that I try to
install the Microsoft remote control, MCE05 can't find drivers for it.

It's Microsoft hardware, purchased from a Microsoft-recommended vendor
(NewEgg) which was exclusively built for Microsoft XP MCE05. So, where do I
find the drivers?

The remote came with no CD or link to find them.

Contact NewEgg and ask them. They are a reputable
operation. MS does not sell MCE as an after-market product.
The remote you bought was probably sold as a replacement
item. I don't have any reason to investigate further.
Where did you buy the Media Center software?

I got the MCE as part of the Partner Action Pack that I subscribe to. It is
installed on a 3.0G Pentium IV Dell with 1 gig of RAM and a 9800 Pro video
card with a PVR 250 tuner card, obviously within specs of the MCE program.
During a Live Meeting presentation on MCE5 hardware and set-up given by
Microsoft, they recommended NewEgg as a source for the pairing of Microsoft
OEM transmitter (the remote) and receiver. That is exactly what I purchased.
However, when that receiver is attached, MCE sees it, but cannot find
drivers. I am asking simply how to find those drivers.

I am asking this question in this forum because I've gotten no answer about
this Microsoft hardware not being able to find Microsoft drivers on Microsoft
MCE05 in the Media Center newsgroup.

this KB suggests that the driver is available through Windows Update.
