Getting message that folder does not support reminders

In the last day or so, I am getting a message when I set reminders on a new
task that reminders cannot be set because this folder does not permit
reminders. I REALLY do not want to set all folders back to the original
default settings as substantial work would be needed to get all folders back
working as they are now.

What happened that I am now getting this message and how do I fix it?

Which folders are you using? Typically only the default folders (Inbox,
Calendar, Tasks, etc) support reminders unless you're using a third-party
tool. Were you using one of those (like Extended Reminders)?

Vince:

Nothing usual as far as folders, just the "standard" ones like Inbox,
Calendar, and Tasks. I am not using Extended Reminders.

I have a screenshot capture showing the error in WORD document. How do I
get it to you?

Inbox and Contacts are the two folders where I take an item and try to create
a recurring task. However, new tasks written from scratch inside the Tasks
folder are also giving me the same message.
