Getting locked out of database

Hello,

I am using the User-Level Security Wizard in Access 2000
and getting locked out of my database. Here is the deal...

I originally just setup users using the User & Group
Account/Permissions option under tools. However, I need
to secure the database over a network and need the same
system.mdw file to be accessed from each computer. I
couldn't find a way to do this except by using the
Security Wizard. However, every time I use the wizard, I
get totally locked out of the database. After it is
encrypted, I can't logon with any name at all
including 'Admin' or the main name I setup in the wizard.

If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening,
please let me know. Thanks in advance!!

My guess is you are logging on using the wrong workgroup. It does not
know who you are. Maybe someone who knows this program better will have
some better ideas.

That wasn't the best thing to do, as you were likely changing the default
system.mdw on your computer. The first step in securing a database is to
create a new workgroup file. Actually that's wrong - the first step is to
download and study the security FAQ from

You really need the FAQ. You can create and join a new workgroup by using
Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe.

One possibility is that you are confusing the PID you created for each user
with a password. All new users will have a blank password initially. Try
logging in with a blank password.

In my opinion, you should start over.
