Getting LDAP to show addresses or Names

Hi,

We use Outlook 2003 as an IMAP client (no exchange server) on Win XP SP3 pcs.

We have an LDAP server and have added this info an an address book into
Outlook.

So, how it works currently is - If, when composing a new message, the user
hits the "To:" button and selects the LDAP address book - no addresses appear
to select from.

However, back at the main compose window, if the user starts typing a name
in the "To:" box, and the name has been used before, it will autopopulate, or
show a listing of all names matching those letters typed in. If the name has
not been used before, then clicking on the "Check Names" button will then
bring up a dialog box with a listing of all names matching the letters typed
in.

What we would like to happen is - when hitting the "To:" button and
selecting the LDAP address book, that it would show all the email addresses
(or names) that are in LDAP (like it does when an Exchange server is used) so
that a name can just be selected off the list.

Help? Thanks.

Rebecca

VLV Browsing is a feature of the LDAP server not Outlook.
If the server supports it, Outlook will show the contacts by default.

Hi,

Thanks for that, but do you have more information on what that means? What
would we check on the LDAP server for this option? Can something be done
through Active Directory itself?

Thanks.

Rebecca
