Getting hold of 'old' gadgets

Is there any way to get sidebar gadgets from earlier builds? Such as the
calculator, appllication launcher and otehrs that were in beta 2 but not RC1
or later. Are MS likely to include the full set in the RTM release? They
should at least publish them on the Gadget gallery site.

I think they said that they would consider it. Depends why the old gadgets
were removed I guess, if something failed to meet their quality standards
and got chopped because of it then presumably it won't find its way out of
the maze for the same reason, later.

Actually, you can do it manually. All you have to do is go into the C:/All
Programs/Windows Sidebar/Gadgets folder and grab the gadgetName.gadget
folder and place it in your
C:/Users/'yourProfile'/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Sidebar/Gadgets
folder.

Very simpe actually, as long as you know where you are going. Also note that
ALL the source code for the gadgets are in those folders, of course, because
it's all html, xml, css, and javascripts (and the pictures...).

Yes, but I'm running RC2, the gadgets I mentioned are not included with this
release so aren't in that folder! The App launcher didn't even make it to
Beta 2 (i've seen a screenshot of it in build 5342 though)
