Getting Dates When You Don't Want Them

(Select) the applicable cells, then click on FORMAT, then
CELLS. Under the NUMBER tab, you will find options
for "General, Number, Currency, Accounting..." Choose
the "Text" option. This should do the trick.

I am cutting and pasting a large table from my browser
into excell. One of the columns has information in the
format of"3/0" or "2/1" or "3/2". This data is being
translated to a date formatted cell with a number code
that then represents as a date.
 
Thanks but..Sorry it is not quite helpful. If I change the cell back to a "number" format. I get a 5 to 7 digit number. I need to get excell to stop converting the information at the time I paste it.

I really need this solved....
