getting "Access is denied" message when joining workgroup

I am trying to join a workgroup in Access 2000. I keep
getting the message "Access is denied". Any suggestions?
I do not have any problems opening the database.

Maybe you have logged on to Windows as a user who does not have the required
Windows access permissions to that workgroup file and/or the folder
containing it?
