Hi cleo,

To get rid of the boot selection, all you need to do is run a SYS C: after
booting the system with a Win98 boot floppy. This will overwrite the WinXP
bootloader that is currently being used to load the operating system.

The other error is more problematic, as it indicates a hardware fault, and
these usually do not get better. It may function ok with Win98, which has a
better tolerance for these things, but inevitably the component will fail
completely. You need to get this diagnosed at a shop.
