Hey
Does anyone know how to get rid of the favorites pane in explorer?
Tools/Folder options/Use Classic Windows folders doesn't seem to do anything
on my system. Is there another setting I've missed and is it normal that the
classic windows folder option has no effect whatsoever?

Thanks

/Magnus

you can cover it up by dragging the folder view border up over it. Or
if you want it and the folder view gone you can use the ORGANIZE drop
down and select LAYOUT then deselect Navigation pane.

I would try looking under 'Organize/Layout'. Perhaps turning off the Preview
pane will do it.

In vista windows explorer, I don't have favourites; just file edit, view,
tools, help.
In XP, i have favourites.

I think he's talking about the "favorite links" pane on the left side of an
explorer window.
Click on the Organize button, then choose "Layout" and then unclick the
"navigation pane." That did it for me.
