I am seeing German text in some of the Windows 2000 common messages that are
used by some programs. I recently loaded in some foreign (German) based
support software for process control applications and since then the German
messages have been appearing.

Does anyone know which DLLs or other Windows support files may have been
affected? And if so, can I fix this problem by reloading these files?

The German text seems to affect some, but not all, of the common messages
that show up in pop-up boxes, such as a common one that asks if you want to
save the file before existing the app.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try going to the Control Panel and choosing Regional Options. On the main
tab (General) locate the "Language settings for the system." Uncheck any
that you do not wish to have active. Make sure "Western Europe and United
States" is checked and set to default.
