Generate CSR without IIS

My app uses a server X.509 certificate corresponding to a domain name
to do secure TCP. To get this cert, a server Certificate Signing
Request (CSR) is needed by Thawte or Verisign. Since an IIS server
may not be available to create the CSR, I'd like to accomplish it
programatically in dotNet.

Any ideas?
