General tab missing in Interner Explorer / OS Win XP

The general tab is no longer available for the Internet
options. Don't know exactly when this happened, but
yesterday the virus Shinwow and byteverify showed up in
the anti-virus scan (they were infecting web pages in the
temporary Internet files folder). There seems to be no
signs of infection, with the exception of the missing
general tab.

Looks like several other people are experiencing this
problem. Hopefully, we can find the solution soon!

I too was having this problem today... seems like we all got hit with
a trojan horse... go to this site... this is MY POSTING and answer...
these people are awesome and are quick... I had it fixed in a matter
of 10 minutes and was looking for solutions for hours. They have a
spyware sofware that takes seconds to download and experts that review
and tell you what to fix. MY General TAB is back now... and working
great.
