I am re-engineering a database that lists about 900+ servers and th
rack locations they are contained in, within our building. It's
mess, and takes 5-10 steps to move a server from rack to rack. Woul
anyone have any ideas on how to build a form or database structure t
ease this transfer.

What I would like to do, is put a yes/no check box on each rack, and i
I assign a system to that rack, the checkbox is automatically checked.
Then when I assign another system to a rack, the only choices in a dro
down menu I see are the racks without the yes/no checkbox checked.
When I move a system, to uncheck the box again, and open the selectio
up.

This may not even be a difficult task, but what ideas would you expert
suggest. The database is rather simple. One major table, an
relations to static selections, such as domain name, building, roo
number etc.. The racks are in a different table then the servers.
Thanks in advance. If you need a blank copy of the DB so far let m
know

Hi,

I can assist and help you with this project, if you are interested.
You can send me the database you have, and if I'll have more questions, I
can ask you.

Best regards,
