GameGuard and Vista Ultimate

GameGuard is an anti-cheat program in lots of online games, like Lineage2.
The problem is that it cannot connect to server from computers with Vista
Ultimate. When running the game from Win XP everything's ok, but I need it to
work with Vista.

Yeah, I did. Actually, I run only Lineage2, and GameGuard is run
automatically. It's a *.des flie, so it cannot be run separately.

I'm guessing you need the makers of Lineage to release a patch that makes it
work better with Vista. here is a blurp I found about it.

"GameGuard also causes an error with Windows Vista that causes it to be
marked ungenuine. This has been fixed with a patch, but many games have not
applied this patch yet"

Well, it hasn't still done anything bad for my windows, but thanks anyway,
I'll try to ask the makers of the game...

Fixing this one requires some digging in your folders. Things that update,
like games such as Lineage2 and GameGuard, put the downloaded and installed
files in a folder in your User folder called VirtualStore. It's several
levels deep, and it's hard to find. By the looks of what I had to do with
Albatross18 (which also uses GameGuard) you need to copy the "Program Files"
(or "Program Files (x86)") folder out of VirtualStore and into your system
drive. That should put all the files in their proper places. Now start the
launcher again and make sure there aren't any more updates - the game should
play properly now. Though I'm afraid to load Guild Wars on my Vista Ultimate
x64 machine... as I think it downloads files during play. That would be a
MAJOR pain.

Anyway, hope that helps a bit. Good luck!
