| Hello,
|
| I am choosing to NOT install SP2 on my Windows XP Home Edition. I currently
| have every other critical update installed, and always keep my Norton
| Antivirus and Norton Firewall current and running. My question is..... if I
| don't install SP2, will I still be able to install of of the future
| "critical" updates, or will the future critical updates require that SP2 be
| installed? I really don't want to install SP2 at this time if I can avoid
| it. Thanks.

At some time in the future, SP2 will likely become a requisite for future
updates. Just as some retail programs will say that you MUST have SP2
installed for its installation to continue!

Hi Paul,

Last I heard, you will still be able to install critical updates. Some other
non-critical updates however will require support from files in SP2.
