Funny email keeps crashing my Outlook

My Outlook is set up to have a preview pane open when I open it up. I
received what looks to be a funny email and so when I attempt to open
Outlook, it sort of gets stuck half way and I can't do anything at all.
Any ideas? I am reluctant to reload the program as there are important
emails there.... (Running Windows XP)

Thanks!

Start Outlook without the preview pane by using the command line switch
(/Nopreview if I recall correctly) then delete the "funny" e-mail that is
crashing your system.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that I can't even start Outlook...
If you have any way for me to start it up and reset the pane before the
program opens, I would be happy to learn. Thanks!

What version of Outlook? Start Outlook from the Run command with the /safe
switch so you can remove the e-mail.
