Functions not working on XP

I have a problem with some basic queries that work ok on Windows 98 but not
Windows XP. Simple functions like DatePart and Date() just are not being
recognised on the XP machine. I am running Access 97. Any ideas?

Has to be references.

Press Ctrl+G to open the Immediate Window.
Choose References on the Tools menu.
Look for any marked "MISSING".

I am having a similar problem - with functions such as trim and mid.

I am running an Access 2000 database on Windows 98. Everything works fine
with windows XP., but with 98, I have the function problem, and I can't quit
Access properly.

I have checked the references and nothing is missing. However, I do notice
that the Windows XP computer is running the DAO 3.51 object library and the
Windows 98 computer is running 3.6 Would that make a difference?

Yes.

You must use DAO 3.6 with Access 2000 and later (JET 4).
DAO 3.51 is for Jet 3.5 (Access 97).
