My data looks like the following:
$1,800
$900
$0
$8,500
$2,400
$900
$4,500
$4,120
$625
$85

I want to get sum total for categories such as any amount less than $1000,
amounts greater than $1000 but less than 4,999 and so on. How can I do this?

=SUMIF(rng,"<1000")

=SUMIF(rng,">1000") - SUMIF(rng,">=4999")

and so on.

Check your specifications. In your examples, you will leave out categories
that are equal to $1000.
