I've set up a kiosk presentation with text boxes set up as
hyperlinks. Now I'm told I need to set these up so a user
can press a function key to access them. Is this even
possible in PowerPoint? I haven't found any reference to
this.

Well ... no, or at least, not from Kiosk mode.

But, if you change to just looping the show instead of Kiosk, then all the
keys become active.

The best advice I can offer is as follows ...
- Convert the show to loop until escape instead of Kiosk.
- Use auto-advance timings to advance the show.
- Add Shortcut manager PowerPoint Add-in from
http://officeone.mvps.org/ppsctmgr/ppsctmgr.html
- Custom mutilate a keyboard to 'de-activate' all keys you do not want the
users to be able to use.

Does this sound do-able?

Custom mutilation of keyboards! Ah, reminds me of the Clinton
administration popping off all those W keys when George came to town.
