Function key

I have hit some series of keys on my other computer that has turned my normal
keys into function keys. In other words, when I type an "r" the "run" dialog
box pops up. When I type an "f" the "open file" box pops up. So, I can't type
any normal sentences. Can anyone help??
 
Sounds like the Alt key is stuck.
