Function key permanently on

On my daughter's laptop with my login it's as though the "Fn" key is stuck
down so instead of "K" I get "2". When she logs in under her ID it works as
it should. Does anyone understand why? Does the Fnkey have a lock or
something that I've accidentally activated under under my userID?

If the daughter can log on with the key working normally, then
it has been assigned as a "hotkey" under Windows. Look under
Help for instructions on how to delete or change key combinations.
In this case, it might mean re-setting the key combinatino to turn
off numlock since, in most laptops, that part of the keyboard serves
as a number pad.
