I have Windows XP and IE 6. They say I can use IE as an
FTP, by typing in ftp://yourdomain.com and then enter my
password and all that. I have done it ONCE, and now it
gives me FTP folder error. I have followed the
instructions my host has sent me. and there should be no
reason why i am getting that? anyone have an idea?
please let me know. thanks.

For many sites you have to uncheck the option to Use passive FTP.

I have that unchecked and it still doesn't work. It only
