I recently swapped ISP's
And while trying to upload my website,
with any FTP program, Windows or CUTEFTP,

The website will login but hang when it comes to a DIR
listing... It Timesouts...

I have had this problem with a previous ISP,
and they sent me a patch from Microsoft (which solved the
problem, does anyone know what i'm talking about?

Most FTP's are fine, just must be a compatibility
problem, between my ISP server software and XP or Win2K's
internal settings.... Anyone Please!!!?!?!?

I had this problem when I changed from a winmodem to a hardware one - it
went away when i changed again to ADSL.

Never did find the cause as the ISP said it was nothing their end. The only
thing they offered was that i should turn off the firewall which I was not
happy about doing - it didn't make it any more reliable anyway.

Good luck - let us know if and when you get a solution and was it was as I
suspect a few people are having/going to have the same problem.

In the configuration for your FTP program, change the connection type to
either enable/disable PASV mode. This should sort your problem out for you.
