FSX Error! Please Help

I have tried updating my CD Drive's firmware but I can't because because it
doesn't have any because its ATAPI and i've also tried cleaing discs but that
doesn't work either. The errror it with the D1Fea~17.cab file and I know lots
of people have posted before but please HELP ME because Microsoft won't! How
can I get support for free without my PID code? You have to have the product
installed to get that and obvisouly I can't acheive this. I can't believe
that one file is driving me so crazy...

When you install the game it tells you your PID, even before you run it.

All CD drives have firmware, the drive wouldn't work without it, but some
drive firmware, like drives that are 20 years old, can't be updated.

You posted zero information about your computer, so I don't think myself or
anyone is going to be motivated to help here.

Do a Google search for the problem, see what other people have done.

Update all your drivers for video, audio, windows, DirectX, etc.

Vista Rating 2.9
Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80 Ghz
RAM: 512MB
System Type: 32 Bit
Hard Drive: ST3120813AS ATA Device?
CD Drive: ATAPI DVD W DH16W1P ATA Device
Graphics Card: NVIDIA 8500GT


My CD Drive runs of the one's supplied with Vista and no update is available
for those. I have googled the problem I'm having but other people's solutions
just don't help. I think it must just be a dodgy CD. I'm not spending another
£40 because Microsoft's Disc don't work.

I'm sorry, 512 Megs of RAM running Vista?

I can't stand Vista with less than 2 gigs and a Core 2 Duo processor.
Check the box, what's the CPU/Ram requirements for FSX?

Also if you bought your game at Best Buy, you can exchange it for
another copy if it doesn't work. Just has to be within 14 days of
purchase. I think FSX was on sale recently.

Your system needs updating, or buy a cheap Core 2 Duo and move your
video card into it. 2 Gigs ram minimum with Vista people!

Yeah sorry about the 512 megs but I have had FSX installed and running on
this machine before I was trying to install SP1 for the game. According to
microsoft's fsinsider.com you are recommended to do a clean install so I
tried to do a clean install but obviously this hasn't happened.
