Subject: Mouse is frozen
Date: Saturday, May 20, 2006 2:08 PM

Hi, I need help! My mouse is frozen, yet my windows is functioning because,
I can receive email notification popups and instant messenger. I tried re-
loading the driver for my optical mouse, it will come up and load, and by
using my up & down aqrrows I can get through most of the commands until it
gets to the point where I have to check off that I agree with the install. I
can't sign the agreement I can't get to the check off point with my up &
down arrows. After that, I can't get any further.
I am running XP Pro, on my Dell desktop, the system boots up fine everything
else seems to be working. I tried using another mouse, same problem. I shut
down and rebooted, I tried going into the safe mode, still cannot do
anything without the use of a mouse.

Looking for Help!!!

Henry

Is it a PS/2 mouse or a USB mouse? PS/2 has a round socket and USB a
rectangular one. If your PC has both types of inputs it might be worth
seeing if you can borrow the other type of mouse and test it that way.

try navigating with the Tab key (or ALT-Tab, SHIFT-Tab, or CTRL-Tab)

I was using a USB OPTICAL MOUSE, I was able to change it to the original
PS/2,which is a Dell. I was able to boot-up and operate without a problem
for about seven hours before the system froze. this has been re-occuring for
awhile. Last 3 days It was difficult to work without a mouse, only using the
keyboard. Right now I have booted up and the system is running again.
