What version of Frontpage will I need to purchase to use
with Windows XP Home SP1 edition? I also need to access
the pages I created in Frontpage 98 on my old system.
As I have recently found out that Frontpage 98 does not
work on this operating system.

FrontPage 2003 is the most current version.

With XP Home, there is no web server (IIS) available, so you will need to
create disk based webs. WinXP Pro comes with IIS as the web server.

FP 98 will work, but since it requires a web server, and the FP 98 web
server or PWS will not work on XP Home, you would need to do a custom
install of FP 98 to not install the PWS. Then, you could do disk based
webs. However, it's not a recommended option, as it could be hard to learn
and master.

Suggest FP 2003 be purchased.

I have FP 98 installed on my ME system and just purchased a new Dell with XP Pro. Will FP 98 work with this version of of Win XP?

1. Make sure that IIS has been installed under Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Windows
Components with the FP extensions.

2. Install FP98 using the Custom install option and unselect Personal Web Server and FP extensions.
