FrontPage 2003 problem

Last night I got FrontPage 2003 and updated my system which had FrontPage 2000.
I did not have any problem with the upgrade
Later I was transfering files to my web site and the process hung up on one
of the files. So I had to cancle the process.
After I cancled the process the folder that I was transfering is no longer
seen by FrontPage. The folder is there and all the files are there but it is
not displayed by front page. I attempted to transfer in the flolder and the
process ran correctly but It still did not show up in frontpage.
in FP2000 there was a option that you could remove web formating from a
folder and you could add web formating to a folder. I can not find it in 2003.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Open the problem site directly in FrontPage and then choose Recalculate
Hyperlinks from the Tools menu.

I tried that and it does not bring back my missing folder.
I have found the following
When opening a folder that was made in Windows Explorer you get the
following message:

The message is:
Add FrontPage Information to the folder
FrontPage needs to add information to your folder in order to help manage
your Hyperlinks and other site content.

Do you want to add FrontPage information to “D:\My Web test†?

When you answer “Yes†the process adds the following folders
_private
_vti_cnf
_vti_pvt
images

I thought there was a way to remove the information but I can not find it.
So I del the folders and then get the message again.
I will try that approach on my problem folder and see if it picks up my
missing folder

Anyway that is what I found out.
Thanks

If you delete the _vti folders, then you have deleted any/all information that FP has for the site.

Have you tried creating a new folder, then open that in FP, then import the content into this new FP
web / site from the old one using the File Menu | Import function?

Oh, that... Folders such as _private, _vti_cnf, _vti_pvt, and images are, in
fact, the information FrontPage adds to your folder in order to help manage
your hyperlinks and other site content. So, if you delete these, FrontPage
will want to recreate them.

Best practice is never to mess with a FrontPage Web site in Windows
Explorer. Always work through FrontPage, which hides these folders, which you
shouldn't mess with anyway. FrontPage uses them to store indexes,
cross-references, and other information it needs to keep your site working
properly.

I figured out what was going on
The folder was pictures for one of the web pages
Perhaps this is a feature of FP 2003, but the program automaticall moved the
folder to the graphics sub folder
I found them there
Each time I would attempt to import the folder the message would come up
saying theat it was there and all the picturs were there and did I want to
overwrite them.
So I suppose this is a time the program is smarter than I am.
I also found out you have the option of changing a sub folder to a web page
or converting it back to a normal folde
The selection does not show up if it is a root or top folder
so I move my top folder into a tem dir and then I could convert it.
Just thought you might want to know
Thanks for your help
