I am trying to learn frontpage2002 in the hopes of being
able to design web pages as a job. Can you give me your
opinion if fp2002 is a realistic program to do that kind
of work, or do I need to supplement it with something else
like this J-Bots program of add-ins. Thanks for your
input.

Hi Jerry,

If you've got any kind of budget upgrading to FP2003 would be well
worthwhile. But yes FP is very suitable - many of us here make our livings
designing web sites with FP. Bear in mind though you can build any site you
like with Notepad and a copy of Photoshop or Fireworks. The software just
makes the process a bit quicker - in this business all that really counts is
your own ability.

Can't comment on jbots as I don't use them - I'm sure others here do.

j-bots will get you doing stuff quicker and without having to learn
anything. if you stick with it you'll probably WANT to learn how to do it
yourself.
IMHO looking at how an add in does what it does is a very good way to learn
things.

You will find yourself supplementing with any design program you use.

I like FP, but I use other tools as well. I also have 3 different kinds of wire-cutters, depending on what kind of job I'm doing :-)

I supplement my income designing webs, I haven't reached the point where I make my entire living from it and perhaps I won't. Maybe I don't want to - sometimes money takes the fun out of doing stuff.

Good luck. Keep coming back, this place is great for support.
