front page will not open

affidavit

Installed FP 2003 4 times from scratch , when I go to
start-programs FP and click -I get a box that flashes to
fast to read and then a entrée in the task bar but no
open window and can not do anything with the task bar
icon-unable to max, close or shut down , can only
shutdown or remove the icon from the task bar by end
process in task manager. running Win XP Pro. The task bar
icon has a arrow in left corner ?
 
For your Task bar issue, Try unlocking your task bar (right click it) to see hidden files

Reinstall FP (you need to be logged in w/ admin rights)
but this time turn off all background programs - especially any virus scanners
and then look at your Setup log for errors per

instalation 5 times-virus protection off-all running
programs off etc. with the same resuls. Find no errors in
logs.

- or create a new shortcut from there

That was the first thing I tried. One of the odd things
is after the FP splash screen flashes on the screen and
it goes to the task bar, right clicking on it brings up
no options or has any effect.
